Forklift Truck Driver Training
Forklift Truck Driver Training will ensure all your operators have the necessary skills to promote safety and efficiency whilst at work. It also ensures that your company is biding by the legislation denoted by the Health and Safety Executive (The HSE) in providing adequate instruction information and training. Training can be arranged at your premises (which is advised) or at a training centre based in West London.

Courses are based on the amount of training required in days as shown below.

EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITY
The employer must provide adequate information, instruction and training for employees, see The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The Rider Operated Forklift Truck Approved Code of Practice 1989 requires training to be provided. This should encompass basic training, specific job training and familiarisation training.
ACCREDITATION
All training is Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register (ITSSAR) accredited.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The duration of the course varies from one day to five days, depending on the individuals experience. A maximum of three delegates can be trained per instructor. Each day is a comprehensive eight hours. The course involves theoretical, practical instruction and testing. Theoretical instruction requires a suitable, quiet room. Practical instruction requires warehouse/yard area. A safe and fully operational truck is required. Different trucks require separate training (e.g. Counter balance, Diesel, LPG and electric). Reach Trucks; Side-Loaders; Rough terrain (Fixed or Telescopic mast); Narrow aisle; Hiab.

OBJECTIVE OF THE TRAINING
The main objective of the training is to teach the basic skills and job safety necessary for the safe and efficient operation of Fork-Lift Trucks.
CERTIFICATE OF BASIC TRAINING
Successful delegates will each be awarded a certificate of basic training and a pocket licence. Your company will be issued with a register of qualified drivers and individual confidential training reports.
